Impact Youth Theatre

Impact Youth Theatre is a new initiative based on the disciplines of dance, drama, musical theatre (singing) and technical theatre (lights, sound and set building). A series of free weekly workshops will initially culminate in one musical production per year and a variety of other shows and concerts. The focus is clearly on engaging young people in the wonder and awe of the live entertainments industry where they can grow in confidence, meet new friends and spend their leisure time in creative and constructive activities. At present, there is no such large scale activity or anything similar within the local area.

Led by trained and qualified practitioners. These will operate across various venues across the Wednesbury and Tipton areas with an initial target of engaging up to 100 young people per week. In addition, dance and keep fit classes will also be offered for adults.

Participating in art, music, drama and dance can build confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline and help develop social and other team-working skills. It can also help young people to be more open-minded, better able to make friends and to deal with difficult experiences, and be more creative in their thinking.

The key to Impact’s success will be its ability to offer totally FREE training and coaching, where young people are NOT expected to pay to participate. There will be very little in the way of auditions so that every young person in the local area who has an interest in the performing arts, can openly participate.

The future aspiration is for Impact to become a fully accredited training provider of performing and entertainment arts education, which will develop a regional and local reputation for continued success and achievement
